Cabernet area or Merlot ? Why choose !

This Tour has a well-balanced program to please all wine amateurs ! On the one hand, we have a trip to the Médoc where Cabernet rules. We'll see amazing wine estates, beautiful vineyards, and small villages along the way. We'll stop in the Margaux or St Julien appellation for a visit and wine tasting. The Château may vary according to the days of the week and availability. Light lunch along the way. Take a short ferry ride, a short break to relax and enjoy passing by small islands, we have a breathtaking view of Vauban Citadelle before we depart to re join St Emilion, ( the ferry crossing is not obligatory we can drive back to St Emilion via Bordeaux ) . On the other hand, the right bank where Merlot sets the tune ! Over 1h drive before we arrive in the St Emilion area for a wine tasting and a short visit of the village before rounding up the day.

Itinerary

Depart from Bordeaux to join the Route of the Châteaux leading into the Médoc region. Hear about the vineyards, the appellations, the varietals and the blends. Enjoy looking at the many Châteaux along the way, all very elegant.

Visit a Wine property in the Margaux or St Julien appellation and enjoy your tasting. Then we'll drive to Lamarque to catch a small ferry which will take us across the estuary to Blaye ' optional itinerary). We can also drive to St Emilion via Bordeaux.

Time for a light lunch before we drive to St Emilion for our wine tasting and a short visit in the village itself. After this full day we'll make our way back to Bordeaux.

The order of activities may be switched depending on the ferry sailing time if you decide to sail across.
