Dusseldorfs playground of modern architecture
After the second world war Düsseldorf became capital city the the state of Nordrhein-Westphalia. From a city geared towards industry it became a service-oriented city. This change meant that the harbour of Dússeldorf lost importance. An ambitous plan was made to develop the harbour into a center of modern technology. This resulted in the Medienhafen, an area with an incredible mix of classic and modern architecture. Highlights are the buildings of Frank Gehry, the Parliament building, the Rhine Tower and the Stadttor (city gate). A MUST for all lovers of architecture.
This tour is a 4 km walk, start and finish at the Rhine Tower. We shall see the parliament building, walk along the Rhine, then go to the actual Medienhafen. On the way back we visit the City Gate.

Fijne rondleiding. Voelde de groep goed aan en kon zodoende de rondleiding redelijke goed doelgroepgericht maken. Rondleider spreekt zeer goed Engels.
