A tour of Florence with a focus on the most important family in the city's history.
We will retrace the evolution of the Renaissance through visiting sites that were integral in the history of Florence and its most important family, the Medicis. Our tour will include both internal and external visits and as we go, I'll be explaining both the historical and art historical significance of what we're seeing. I'll be sharing a rich tapestry of detail about the Medici family, the artists under their patronage, and the politics and historical development of Florence as we work our way through some of the most beautiful sites the city has to offer.
Since some of the sites visited on this tour have complex schedules that are subject to sudden changes, I advise contacting me prior to booking your date.

Paola was fantastic. Tour was well-paced, and she easily kept my 12-yo daughter engaged. Paola is certainly very knowledgeable, knows Florence inside and out, and her love of her city shines through. She was great at getting in touch beforehand to figure out what would work best for us and was a great resource throughout our stay in Florence. We loved the restaurant she recommended and was generally just a wonderful person to get to know a bit. We loved her so much we signed up for a 2nd tour.
