London's Medical History Highlights Tour
On my Medical London Tour clients can encounter the people and places that have made this capital city of contagion and a home for the healing from the past to the present day.
From blue-blooded Royalty to body snatchers, anatomists to anaesthetics, physicians, pharmacists to the founding fathers of the National Health Service.
All can be found through history on the streets of London.
Join me on a tour with the tales that have made London a city of sickness and a city of cures for over 1, 000 years.
We need to go back in time to the old medieval City of London - and eventually come full term to the present day with a visit to 2 world class museums.
We shall discover the historic Apothecaries Hall, as well as the Hunterian Museum at the Royal College of Surgeons, and also the world-renowned Royal College of Physicians for a special exclusive highlights tour.
We shall also have a stroll around Harley Street to catch up with some personalities - both healers and hoaxers to enhance your Tour.
Tours start at 10am where we shall transfer to the old medieval City of London for a London Medical History highlights Tour, which will include de medical institutions past and present and the characters which shaped the development and of medicine in London.
Before midday I shall introduce you to the finest purveyor of coffee in London in one of London's oldest markets.
Just as doctors followed their patients in the move towards the west end of London we shall do the same, and take in a highlights Tour of the Royal College of Surgeons - before taking lunch in a Tradional English Pub.
We shall continue tracking down such medical heroes as William Harvey, Edward Jenner, Florence Nightingale and Joseph Lister on a stroll around the Harley Street area of Marylebone - before concluding with a highlights Tour of the Royal College of Physycians.
