Mdina is nicknamed the 'silent city'. It lives up to its name mostly in the evening when the dim lights transform the streets into romantic lanes…

The entire population in the citadel counts approximately 240 people. Formerly known as the city of Melite, the 'honey' city, this fortress was created by the ancient Romans around two thousand years ago. Erected on one of Malta's highest peaks approximately one hundred eighty meters above sea level, Mdina is the ancient capital city of Malta.

A three hour tour of the Medieval city of Mdina and the nearby town, Rabat. The guided walking tour of the 'silent city' ends at the bastions which allow us to admire a panorama of most of the island.

Optional: Guided Tour of the catacombs and WWII bomb shelters.

A Recent Review of this tour

Glorianne was an excellent guide. She was prompt and with a driver took us to visit Rabat and Mdina. She was very knowledgeable about both areas and when I mentioned our interest in food, she pointed out a terrific place to purchase pastizzi. She was also very flexible. As we intended to go into Valletta after our time with her, she had the driver bring us there instead of back to our hotel. Thanks again Glorianne!
