In what city of Europe was the first surgery performed at night with the light of a gas lamp? Who, when and where in Europe opened the first coffee shop? What is the taste of the famous Ukrainian borshch (beetroot soup)? You will hear the answers to these and many other questions if you come and see me in Lviv, Ukraine.
My name is Irene (Iryna in Ukrainian, Irena in Polish, Irina in Russian). I am a civil engineer, later got MBA degree with internship in Wayne State University, USA. I am also a professional guide since 1987. I keep saying that my tour guiding is my first love and my second job. Since 2007 I am lecturing on the courses, which are licensed to prepare tour guides in Lviv. I provide classes for English speaking guides.
I was born and brought up in the Ukrainian city of Lviv. The city is named after Lev (Leo, Lion), son of the city founder - Prince Danylo. The first record about the city dates back to 1256. In 1998 Lviv was put on the UNESCO heritage list.
I am eagerly waiting for you in my old and always young Lviv, in the city of never ending legends, tales and reality, where people are dancing under the sky, where grownups are smiling like children and kids are walking as snobby grownups. . .
Lviv is a Holiday, which is always with those, who visited it at least once, the city, which penetrates into your heart and soul by the simplicity of its narrow and crooked streets, "fat" cobble stones, benches, street-lamps, lanterns and street lights, which are shining as small sparkles during all your further life, attracting like a magnet and inviting to come back again.
We will walk along the "tracks of our lions" (we have many of them in sculptures and different decorations), and they will tell you our mysteries and secrets, inspiring and striking by their uniqueness and love.
Everyone can find something interesting, dear and very special for himself in Lviv. I will be glad to compose an itinerary on your request.
My tours include (please, see details in Tours section):
• "Lviv yesterday, today and tomorrow" - a 3 hours sightseeing tour: combined walking and by car/bus/mini-van

Why should you choose me? I am reliable, flexible, exstraordinary, never boaring. . . Do you think I am boasting? Just come to visit and check!
A Recent Review of this guide
The love and passion Irene has for her town is evident and is inspiring. Irene was amazing to say the least, the tour was hands down the best we have had & we have had many (ranging from Italy, France, Switzerland, Poland etc). We would highly recommend Irene and wish all of our tours were like Irene's, with passion and love. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us Courtney, Charles and Ricky
