Active Day Trip, Nature and Natural Beauty Experience
Join me for a day trip from Denver to explore RMNP and walk the trails in the valley below Longs Peak. (Note, RMNP entrance is a 90 minute drive from Denver. )
Take a light hike with the mountains as a backdrop and observe the wildflowers and birds closeup. A gourmet picnic of local specialties can be prepared as you enjoy the beauty of the meadows, the streams and alpine lakes, and wildlife.
Experience the dramatic views as we drive along the highest continuously paved road in N. America, Trail Ridge Road. The drive back is equally as impressive as we travel along the Peak to Peak Highway and down through Boulder Canyon. And as we pass through Boulder, Estes Park, or Lyons, we can make a stop to try a local craft brewery tap room or a fun coffee shop.
You will be in awe of the splendor to be found in a national park located so close to a major metropolitan area.
Please note there is great flexibility to adjust and change any aspect of this day either prior to your arrival or during the day you visit, especially if the weather changes.
Drive through Boulder, Lyons, and Estes Park on the way to the park. Shopping incorporated into any part of the day as you would like.
Once we reach RMNP, there are many options for a hike or walk. You may opt for a short, less strenuous walk, or perhaps a longer duration hike that could last for the better part of the day.
Lunch could be a gourmet picnic or we could select a restaurant outside the park that sounds the most interesting to you. (Many vegan and vegetarian options available. )
Touring through the park could include a visit the Moraine Park Museum to learn about the park's unique history and geology. And a drive along the dramatic Trail Ridge Road (weather and season permitting) will take us to the Continental Divide.
Stop in a coffee shop, tea house, or a craft beer tap room in Nederland, Boulder, or Lyons.
