St Paul's Cathedral and The City of London
Let's start with a two hour walking tour of the ancient City of London. Architecture, Wren churches, 17th C coffee house culture, the Livery companies, the Roman amphitheatre, pageantry, the history of banking and finance, even dragons. . . and so much more to see and talk about.
Don't worry, I always go at your pace. This is your tour.
Afterwards, why don't we disappear down an alleyway and visit a historic (rather secret) pub for refreshment before heading to Sir Christopher Wren's masterpiece St Paul's Cathedral for a private guided tour?
As one of the in-house trained guides I can show you this magnificent 300-year old landmark and reveal it's history. Allow an hour and a half to two hours - more if you want to enjoy tea in the crypt and perhaps stay for an early evening service - it's up to you.
My tours are just for you. I want you to enjoy them to the utmost and take home treasured memories to reflect on forever. And of course they'll be hundreds of photo moments too!
Meet you at your hotel (provided it is in central London), or at a meeting point of your choice, such as a London station. Or at St Paul's Cathedral - I'll let you know exactly where we can meet.
Private guided tour of St Paul's Cathedral. This includes the history of the building, the context of the Cathedral within London's history, explanation of the structure of the building pointing out many features, the story of Sir Christopher Wren and the Great Fire of London, who is buried there, state funerals. . . . . . . and much more.
If you are feeling energetic we can climb up to the Whispering Gallery for stunning views of the cathedral floor below. . . . .
We can take a look at the building from the outside too. . . .
And perhaps take a stroll across the Millennium Bridge to view the cathedral from the southern bank of the River Thames and a guided walk through the old City of London with it's rich history.
Perhaps lunch in an old London pub?

We covered a lot of ground on our tour, learning about and seeing many places we would never have known about on our own. Vivien is extremely knowledgeable about the city and is a very pleasant person to spend time with. We highly recommend her.
