Mount Lokon and Mahawu are two volcanoes in Tomohon, North Sulawesi. One is in the west side of the town and the other is in the east. Both become landmark of the highlands. These volcanoes are active and regularly erupt.
Mount Lokon is a 1598 m tall volcano, it lays in the west side of the town. It challenges many tourists to get near to the crater because of its high volcanic activity. Via the lava river, we can climb up to the crater for about 1, 5 hours walking.
Mount Mahawu lays in opposite direction of Mout Lokon. That is to the east side of the town. It has magnificent view of the town from top. This volcano is 1331 m from sea level and considered easy to climb. Beautiful farmland view surrounds the volcano enriches the experience of visiting this volcano too.
