Exquisite ceramics + authentic farmhouse cooking, Valencia style
The tour begins with pick up from the port. The Lladro factory is situated on the outskirts of Valencia. This is the same location where back in 1953 the three Lladro brothers were inspired to build a kiln a begin making hand-crafted porcelain figures. The rest, of course, is history.
After a fascinating insight into the art and dedication that lies behind every hand-made Lladro piece (1. 5 hours) we head into the market gardens nearby to visit a working Valencian farmhouse and learn how to make a paella from the local ingredients. A horse and cart tour of the local area is also included to give a real taste of the type of market gardening that has sustained Valencia's people for a thousand years. You will learn the must and must-nots of a local dish that has conquered the world. It is not as easy as you may think! Then back to port for a well-earned siesta.
the tour is priced for 6 people but can be expanded to 12 or 18 (with price adjustment) or reduced for just two.
