Ljubljana Old Town with a private guide
Ljubljana is often called an European jewel or a small blend of Prague and Amsterdam. . . It's a 'town with a soul', as visitors often comment.
The vibrant old town is concentrated along the Ljubljanica river and the Castle on a hill still looks like it's protecting the romantic city below.
We are going to stroll along medieval streets, admire an interesting blend of different architectural styles, 'see' and 'be seen' on several famous promenades along the river, discover some of its hidden monuments, enjoy in the town's greenery and learn about stories and fairy tales which connect present and past.
We will see all major Ljubljana sights: the main square with Prešeren monument, Franciscan church and Three Bridges, the Congress Square (Park of the Star), the National University Library, The New Square, The Cobbler's Bridge, The Old Square (the oldest street), the romantic river promenade, the Municipality Square, St. Nicholas Cathedral (enter if open), the famous Open Air Market, Butcher's Bridge and Dragon Bridge.

A personalized walk through Ljubljana on a rainy morning! This was our first morning in the country, and we were of course late as we figured out parking and dealt with a rainy drive. Barbara waited for us in the rain and was still happy and personable for the full tour! She is engaged with the city on a personal level and gives insights that we didn't get from any of the book-guides we read in preparation for our trip. Highly recommend!
