Capital presenting the communist story of Slovenia with a private guide

I suggest this tour to the travelers who would like to get to know Slovenia and its capital in detail. After the tour, you will understand our Slovenian identity, know more about our previous homeland Yugoslavia, its (dis)advantages and the reason, why more than 90 % of Slovenians decided for independent Slovenia.
As you know, first lady of USA- Melania, comes from Slovenia and left the country because of the promissing future in the West. At the end of the tour, I am sure you will understand why Melania and generally, we young people from that time, longed to go abroad. I am going to share with you my personal experience: I finished the elementary school, high school, first college, got first job in one of the numerous state owned companies, travelled around the world, and yet, at the end, came back and started my new career in newly established, young country Slovenia.

We are going to stroll along the unusuall places: Congress Square, Republic Square, Museums Square, Ajdovščina area, . . . where the most of the buildings and monuments from Communist times are.

A Recent Review of this tour

The tour sounds to be for visitors with a very specific interest but I actually recommend it for anybody who wants to learn about Ljubljana and it's people a little bit more than the superficial. Mateja is a fantastic guide, extremely knowledgable about everything concerning her city and country. She is also very friendly and welcoming. The tour was very well set up, we saw and learned a lot and still had time for a coffee in a fantastic place to talk about history, culture, her own experiences.
