Well, the truth is that is not a job anymore, has became a way of life, because I LOVE guiding.
I have lived in Lanzarote for over 11 years, after arriving here from my London adventure, where I've lived almost 4 years. When I arrived to this incredible island I was thinking to stay just a week, so this is the longest week of my life, a never ending one!!.
And if you going around with me you will understand why. Lanzarote is like a big box full of surprises, a very singular place. An island shaped by the fire of the volcanoes, the wind, the Atlantic Ocean and the wisdom of its inhabitants.
I cater to individuals and ideally groups of 2-6 people, but I can also organize tours for larger groups, by the way, kids are always welcome, I love doing family tours. Being a CERTIFIED guide allow me to skip the lines at the tourist places like museums and other visiting points saving lots of time and I can also provide discounts on the entrances fees.
On my tours there are not commercial stops in places where to buy unwanted stuff, no "whistle stops" or shortcuts, so we make the most of our time together.
The tours listed below comprises the known and the unknown places of Lanzarote but I can also customise the tours. Give me the details and I'll design your tailormade tour, adapted to your preferences and timeframe.
I also organize hiking tours all over Lanzarote, including our neighbour island of La Graciosa.
What can I say about me? Well, I'm naturally from Barcelona, I'm 43 years old father of two little girls, and easygoing person, friendly and caring for details.
I have worked within the travel industry the last 20 years, in Barcelona, London and Lanzarote. I have done everything, from refilling mini-bars to running hotel departments or working as a REP for a tour-operator.
But I'm also a TRAVELLER, I've visited many countries in America, Asia, Europe and Oceania (Africa is in my wish list, I'll be there very soon)and I know what a traveller feels when is abroad and does not know the language and the local customes. These traveling experiences gave me an important background that helps me in my profession.
This is me and I hope to see you soon in Lanzarote.
Have a good trip.
A Recent Review of this guide
Lanzarote is absolutely amazing. Out of all the Canary Islands our group liked this one the most. José only made this better with his knowledge and passion for the area and history. He was an absolutely wonderful guide and I would highly recommend him to be a guide for other groups. He went with the flow of the group and we truly appreciated him for that. The winery he took us to was absolutely amazing!!!
