7 hours | Exploring the Big Buddha | Po Lin Monastery and the Iconic Tai O Fishing Village
If you really want to know Hong Kong and I mean really know Hong Kong then book a premium private tour with Jamie today. .
You can simply book this tour as described note that my premium tours are fully customisable I can do special requests, you can let me know in advance or simply let me know when we meet and will let you know if your custom itinerary is feasible within the time frame of the tour
Please refer to the itinerary section for a more detailed explanation.
Please note that I do NOT do car tours or food tours. Hong Kong has the best public transport in the world and it is far quicker to walk and to use air conditioned public transport
I give you the REAL Hong Kong with adult conversation and a genuine local perspective rather than telling you fluffy nonsense!| I can customise this tour for you, start time, no. of people, no. of hours, price etc for booking purposes.
This is a very specific tour itinerary with very specific transport options to make the day as comfortable as possible. . my first visit to the Po Lin Monastery and Tai O was in 1972 and I have been visiting the Big Buddha since it opened in 1993.
For 7 hours we will explore the Big Buddha, the awe inspiring new Po Lin Monastery and the iconic Tai O Fishing Village on Lantau Island | This will also include a ride on the NP 360 Cable Car from the Big Buddha to Tung Chung offering up some magnificent scenery, the ride is about 25 minutes.
I am happy to stop for snacks or a meal, we can discuss this when we meet but generally I would recommend we stop at the Tai O Heritage Hotel, they have an excellent restaurant with a great menu at affordable prices. Local dishes including some based around Tai O Shrimp Paste (!) are on offer as well as crowd favourites such as Fish and Chips and such. . I highly recommend this restaurant.
Meeting Point + Tour Duration
Meeting Point Options: Rail or Bus Station, Cruise Ship Port, Airport, Hotel, Address or Intersection, Monument/Building

This is a walking tour but we also use public transport to get from place to place if and when required, Hong Kong probably has the best public transport system of any city worldwide, it really adds to the tour experience!
We do walk at at a pace to allow for conversation and in hotter weather, plenty of rest stops, I am not known for rushing around

The visit to Lantau Island with Jamie should not be missed! The big Buddha and temples are extraordinary! We loved the village on stilts and the boat ride in search of the pink dolphins! Jamie knows his stuff and he is the one to accompany you when you visit Hong Kong!
