A Retreat for a Nature Lover with a Private Guide.

This is a tour to enjoy exploring Onuma Quasi-National Park.
Take a train from Hakodate JR Stn. and in 30 minutes we'll arrive at Onuma Park with a magnificent Mt. Komagatake at its back. This feminine-like mountain is an active volcano. When there was a great eruption in 1640, three lakes were created.
Approximately two million sightseers visit this place, because this has been a recreational park since Hakodate was opened to the rest of the world some 150 years ago. After boarding a pleasure boat for 30 minutes and get an overall view, I'll take you a walk around the lake, hopping islands. You can listen woodpeckers pecking on the tree trunk, wild ducks parading on the lake. We can drop in a restaurant and have lunch on a raft-like boat drifting on the lake in a calm and peaceful scene. You can also enjoy canoeing, cycling along the lake. This is a perfect place for those who want to enjoy the beauty of nature.

Itinerary

Take a train at Hakodate JR station and get off at Onuma Koen. It takes only 30minutes by express train. After walking a bit, we'll come to a pleasure boat station. There are three dammed lakes here created after the 1640's great eruption of Mt. Komagatake. We'll get on board and get a general view of the lake and Mt. Komagatake for 30 minutes. I'm sure you'll be surprised to see a magnificent view, which was chosen one of the three most scenic beauties in Japan. Then, let's stroll along the path, hopping islands. There are 126 small islands in this lake. Just imagine the serene, peaceful islands floating against the backdrop of the mountain. You might meet with a great spotted woodpecker, a nuthatch, a tit mouse, a heron. This is a blessed place with nature. When hungry, we can eat lunch on a raft-like boat moving slowly on the lake. You'll feel completely relaxed and finish lunch with coffee! Why don't you enjoy basking in the nature? We'll come back to Hakodate by train again.
