Get outdoors and enjoy a private tour in the fresh air of one of England's most beautiful national parks

The Lake District is famous as a walkers destination. You don't have to climb the high mountains to enjoy it. I know many low level walks with amazing views of the lakes and fells, and of course with a pub for lunch on the way!

As I am a qualified guide for the region you will get much more than just a walking tour. You will learn about the landscape, farming, social and cultural aspects of the region both contemporary and historical.

What we do will depend on your location and abilities but as an example I could meet you in the pretty village of Grasmere, once home to William Wordsworth. We can explore his links to the village before heading down the low level "coffin route" to Rydal. We can continue around Rydal water and for the more energetic climb to the top of Loughrigg for the stunning views before completing the loop to Grasmere.

Including a lunch stop this will take about 4. 5 to 5 hrs. Sturdy walking shoes essential and waterproofs advisable in case of bad weather.

This is a very bespoke service to suit your timings, location and abilities.

There are wonderful lowland walks from all the towns and villages in the central Lake District such as Windermere, Ambleside, Grasmere, Coniston, Hawkshead, Sawrey and Keswick.

You should allow 5 hours to enjoy a good walk, lunch and any visitor attractions of interest on the way. In the summer months I can do an evening walk to fit in with your travel plans. The routes will mostly be away from paved roads they will certainly be uneven surfaces and may be muddy.

There will certainly be some hills but we can discuss your abilities and adapt as needed.

Please contact me to discuss your ideal tour.
