I'm fully bilingual - I actually speak English on a daily basis at home as my wife is British. I have lived in several countries and traveled to many, many more.
During my travels, whether for business or pleasure, I've always made it a point to experience the local culture, and I firmly believe that gastronomy is a very important part of that. I've always been eager to enjoy, not only the fabulous, top-of-the-line restaurants run by renowned chefs, but also the local jewels that every place has hidden away, unknown to the average tourist. Add to this, that on one hand my family comes from La Rioja and Galicia (both home to great food and superb wines), and that on the other, I've been lucky enough to make very good friends in the restaurant and wine industry, and you can understand why I always plan my trips around fantastic food and wine! It goes without saying that I'm a wine enthusiast (I even have my own little private home wine cellar) and I also love to cook so I can appreciate a nice meal when I have one and will go out of my way to find it!
For the past 8 years, I have been bringing people from different walks of life together through our shared common interest: delicious food and great wines! Whether it be at a private, specially designed, gourmet wine-paired dinner (often accompanied by the chef/owner/bodega), a day tour for a personalized visit to a top winery (which on certain tours open especially for us) followed by a delicious meal washed down with amazing wines or a multi-day trip to a nearby region including all of the above and more.
I'm always open to suggestions, special requests and new adventures, so if there is anything you would like personalized, get in touch. I take a lot of pleasure in sharing this passion and will greatly enjoy showing you what this fabulous country has to offer for us foodies and wine lovers from a local enthusiast's perspective.
