Walk in the ancient city and visit the most famous highlights with a local guide!
Kyoto is the longest capital of Japan and it's full of cultural sites. This 4 hours walking tour will make you understand this ancient city. We'll meet at Kyoto station and we'll catch a train to Fushimi Inari Grand Shrine, perhaps the most popular site in Kyoto. This place is noted for thousands of vermilion torii gates that arch over a long path up the hill behind the shrine and for being the setting of the movie "Memoirs of Geisha".
We then visit Gion (Geisha district) and Kennin-ji temple, the oldest zen Buddhist temple in Kyoto. We'll see its peaceful garden and you might have the chance to get a glimpse of Geisha on a quaint street.
Our tour finishes at Gion where close to downtown Kawaramachi.
-Fushimi Inari Grand Shrine
I recommend to start at 1. 30 / 2. 00 PM to have the chance to see Geisha walking on Gion district.

Tomoko set up a night walking tour for us when I couldn't find an established tour that would accommodate our arrival time. She met us at our hotel at a time that worked for us and due to rainy weather that didn't allow for the originally planned walking tour, she had an optional tour that worked much better with the weather. We found her very easy to work with, extremely knowledgeable and helpful with a number of questions that didn't always relate to the tour subject matter. We highly recommend her!
