Experience an Artistic tour with a Local Guide
The Area of Montmartre is famous for being the arty neighbourhood of Paris. It has been the birthplace of Impressionism, Cubism and Surrealism. Such artists as Dégas, Cézanne, Renoir, Van Gogh, Picasso, whose artworks can be seen nowadays in the Musée d'Orsay, all came to Montmartre to create. Nowadays, everybody still loves Montmartre because of its beautiful hill top, with a breathtaking view over Paris, small streets made of cobblestones, cute quiet squares with cafés, typical shops and countryside atmosphere.
Montmartre is considered as part of Paris but it is completely different from the rest of the city and has its own special place. Montmartre is so picturesque that it truly looks like a postcard. I am an art historian and I am passionate about Montmartre. I will show you this fantastic area and share with you its artistic history.
We will start our walk on Boulevard de Clichy which is known for its legendary cabarets. Then, we will walk up the famous street Lepic full of gourmet shops and delicatessen. It will lead us to the hill of Montmartre with charming streets, workshops and places resided by artists. We will finish at the top of the hill with the Basilica of the Sacred Heart.
