Bird's Paradise Safari
The Rift Valley floor in Kenya hosts about 10 lakes. These water bodies have shaped the environment and the cultures of the peoples living around them. Currently, many economic activities are carried out from these resources including tourism. Of the major attractions around here, are thousands of the lesser flamingos that breed and feed around the lakes, hundreds of hippo populations, breath-taking scenery as well as other bird life and cultures around them.
Lake Naivasha is about an hour drive from the city, it is a great place to watch hippos at a close range while on a boat tour. Closeby is Hell's gate National Park which is known for walking safaris and lava gorges which were curved when Mt. longonot erupted. Lake Nakuru is known for its flamingos and wildlife especially rhinos while Lake Bogoria is famous due to hot water geysers and flamingos. Lastly, Lake Baringo is popular for its Crocodiles and the Ilchamus hunter and gatherer community around it.
