A Day Trip from Tokyo / Meet the Great Buddha
Kamakura is a perfect day-trip destination from Tokyo. On this tour, we will be visiting a bamboo forest on the grounds of a 14th-century temple named Hokoku-ji (temple). Afterwards, we will travel over to Kamakura's most important Shinto shrine, Tsurugaoka Hachimangu, which was founded over 900 years ago and is an Important Cultural Property of Japan. Finally, we will end our Kamakura tour at Kotoku-in (temple) where we will visit a 700-year old, 121-ton (267, 000 pounds), 13. 35-meter (43. 8 ft) bronze statue of the Great Buddha.
As a licensed guide and professional photographer, I'll be telling you a lot of interesting stories about each place while capturing the best moments of our day. Also, I'll give you a mini Japanese lesson if you're interested in languages.

This was my fourth and final tour with Kumi during my stay in Tokyo. What an action packed day! The rain decided to join us on our journey to/ from Kamakura but Kumi's amazing energy created an amazing day. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who will be in the area. It encompasses the true spirituality of the area, from the Hokoku-Ji Bamboo Temple, to the coast, to the Great Buddha. The only bad part of the day was the sad goodbye after an incredible week with Kumi.
