Turn several hours between flights into a wonderful experience with a private guide.

Do you have a few hours between flights with nothing but the airport lounge to fill them? Instead of sitting there, let me show you a little of the City of Gold.

I will customize a tour for you to fit the time available and your interests. Want some exercise? A drive to the National Botanical Gardens will show you a cross-section of the city, and a hike to the top of the waterfall will reward you with views of the city, the natural vegetation and possibly a glimpse of our city-nesting Verraux's Eagles!

A trip to the Top of the Carlton, the tallest building in town, will allow a wonderful overview of the city in a short time. A drive to the site of the first gold strike passes through old suburbs giving a glimpse of areas of early development and how people live.

Johannesburg has unique museums and an intriguing history - all waiting for you! I can customize the itinerary to suit your interests.

Itinerary

We travel through the suburbs, new to old, to the site of the first discovery of gold, George Harrison Park west of the city. We pass through areas such as Rosebank, Sandton, Parktown North, Parkhurst, Emmarentia, Melville and Brixton. From there we go into town to Mary Fitzgerald Square and MuseumAfrica, Newtown, Chancellor House, Main Street Mall for the mining exhibits and through the city passing City Hall and the old shopping district to the Top of the Carlton for an aerial city overview. I try to give as wide a view of the city as possible in the time available and discuss the history fully. I highlight what was, what happened and the changes taking place today. The time you have available will determine how much we can fit in.

If you wish to go out of town to the Botanical Gardens or similar, please ask for a customised quotation.
