From Dyess to The Million Dollar Quartet
J. R. Cash spent his childhood years in a simple New Deal farmhouse absorbing his family's folk and gospel music along with the field songs of laborers. He moved to Memphis to which all the Million Dollar Quartet members migrated to incubate their music. He joined the service, met his first wife and returned to Memphis where the first half of his music career unfolded.
