La Riviera dei Fiori
Once there were two small Italian towns called Dolce Acqua and Bussana Vecchia. Both situated in a narrow coastal strip which lies between the ligurian sea and the mountain chain formed by the maritim Alps and the Apenines. The Mix of mountain and sea is what we call "Riviera". This is not the Blue Coast but "The Flowers Riviera".
In this fairy tale, we will walk in the steps of Monet, who painted the famous "bridge at Dolce Acqua" in 1884 - the original painting is nowadays in Massachusetts. The bridge was constructed in 15th century and spans the Nervia River connecting the old town called "terra" to the newer part called il Borgo.
The next town is Bussana Vecchia that is situated near San Remo about 20 kilometers east of the border between Italy and France.
