The local and more personal way to do the Golden Circle
The Golden Circle is a classic tour when visiting Iceland. You will visit the National Park where the Vikings used to gather for Congress, The Geysir hot spring area, and the powerful waterfall Gullfoss. Most visitors take this tour and 90% of them do the bus tour. That is OK, but it is so much better to go on a private tour with a local guide.
When I have friends coming to visit I want them to see more. Driving all this way takes a lot of time and when you do a private tour you save time that you can use to see more along the way. It depends a bit on seasons but whatever time of year, there is always something wonderful to explore off the beaten path.
Taking the time to walk up on an old crater, stop to pet some horses, see more waterfalls or even pay a visit to the Lava Center at Hvolsvöllur to experience the great volcano show there is all a good extra fun on a Golden Circle Private tour.
Bring the camera with you. :)
The tour changes a bit from one season to another. What is always in it, of course, are the three famous attractions, The National Park at Þingvellir, Geysir hot spring area and the Gullfoss, one of Iceland's most powerful waterfalls. What is special about this version of the tour - apart from all the extra stops - is the fact we will be doing it in reverse order. That way we will most part get out of the crowds.
During winter months we start by driving to Hvolsvöllur to visit the new Lava Center and learn about Iceland's volcanoes. After that, it will be bright outside and we drive off to see the top attractions and also some carefully chosen off the beaten path places.
It is important on this tour - as all private tours - to take the time to enjoy. Not only the main attractions but also the unforeseen adventures we will find if we give our self the time.

The Golden Circle tour is a full day tour. It depends a bit on seasons how long it takes for in the winter the days are shorter and during summer the days are endless. :) Usually, the tours are from 8-10 hours. I am not doing anything else the whole day than being your guide so if you don't have a tight schedule, let's just take it easy.
I drive a 2012 Land Rover Discovery 4 with nice leather seats for six passengers.

6000 icelandic krona - It is a long day and we will be stopping at a nice restaurant to have dinner. It is not too pricey, in fact, it is an old farm that opened up a good and interesting restaurant. You can actually see the cows in the barn through a glass window from your table. Great burgers, but also good fish, lamb, and beef.
Any personal purchases, extra refreshments, dinner or souvenirs.
I usually drive a luxury Land Rover Discovery that has six comfortable passenger seats. Perfect for a family or a small group of friends. However, if your group is more than 6 people we can discuss using a minivan. Please contact me for details and a quote.
I am not qualified as a glacier guide and will there for hire such services upon a request.

WHAT AN AMAZING TOUR GUIDE!!!!!! You will not be disappointed if you plan your tours with Dofri. He was our guide for two, full-day tours. From the time we started to plan our tours to the very end of all the excitement, Dofri made every step of the way easy and enjoyable. Planning with him will give you so much more flexibility and you will certainly see more than you would on a group tour. There are so many Golden Circle tours out there, but planning with Dofri made it unique and unforgettable!
