Wine, history, gourmet local food with a local private guide

We travel through some of the beautiful sights of Hobart to a lookout with stunning views of Hobart City and the Derwent River estuary. Then we follow the Derwent River along "Princess Mary route" and beautiful views south of Hobart.

After a delicious morning tea aboard a unique cafe aboard an old Tassie train, we head to the Channel Heritage Museum, and its remarkable displays of local heritage and history. On to the bucolic Huon River valley where we will taste local Tasmanian honey and a boutique winery's multi-award winning wines.

After a gourmet lunch platter at the renowned Apple Shed, where you have the option to taste fresh organic cider (not included) we travel back to Hobart via stunning views of kunanyi/Mt Wellington and the "Sleeping Beauty" mountain range. Upon our return to Hobart there is an optional visit to our gorgeous Royal Botanical Gardens at no extra charge.

This tour departs Hobart at 10:00 and takes the scenic route to the Channel region. We stop at a special chocolate shop then on to Hartzview Vineyard for a wine tasting and lunch.

We travel through the picturesque village of Cygnet and on to Panorama Vineyard Huon River. Our final stop is the award-winning Home Hill Winery near Huonville, then return to Hobart by 3:30pm.

A Recent Review of this tour

She kept us fully informed during the process of booking the original tour and also with the change. She is a very 'special' lady full of charm and friendliness. Was very knowledgeable regarding all the questions we bombarded her with and nothing was top much trouble. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and spending the day with Rosie. We would definitely use her again when we come back to Tasmania and will recommend Tours By Locals and Rosie to our friends if they are visiting Tasmania.
