Explore New Territories and a side of Hong Kong unseen by tourists and expats
When tourists come to Hong Kong, no matter how many times they have been here, they have always stayed mainly in the Hong Kong Island and Kowloon Side. If you are interested to see how the locals really live and visiting places you can't venture on your own, I am happy to invite you to my hometown - Tai Po in New Territories.
Tai Po is a big town in New Territories with lots of interesting history, but you won't see tourists here. Besides the local lives, it has also has some of the most beautiful natural landscape scenes in Hong Kong. We will also be visiting an authentic and peaceful small fishing village, taking a scenic boat ride with the local fishermen, getting inside a Hong Kong public housing estate (You'll be amazed!), going to real and vibrant local markets (including fish market) and sampling delicious local food.
We may even be invited to visit a fisherman's home on the sea if we are lucky. Join me today for the most "edutaining" tour experience!
*Hiking/Cycling options available
I recommend taking this tour after you have seen the major tourist attractions in Hong Kong. It would be a great tour if you feel like getting away from the concrete jungle, and I am sure you will be surprised how different Hong Kong is from what you have seen or expected.
It usually includes visiting the most happening fish market in Hong Kong, a local family home to understand the lifestyles of the grassroots in Hong Kong, a small fishing village, local fish farms on the sea and a scenic boat ride to discover a side of Hong Kong that most people have forgotten about.
We can also arrange a visit to the stunning Tsz Shan Monastery (minimum one month notice).
The Itinerary will be highly flexible according to the pace, your interests and weather condition etc. I believe the high flexibility allows the best tour experience for you. :)

Estimated Local Cash Needed
500 HKD - You may prepare about 400-1000HKD each including some $100 notes for souvenirs, food and drink, taxi etc. You may also bring your credit card with you. In Hong Kong, most outlets and big restaurants accept Visa and Master.
Food and Beverage
All the food and beverage consumed during the tours are at the visitors' own costs. But don't worry! According to my past experience, the charge is usually minimal. I know best where to find good eats with friendly prices, so get ready to start a culinary adventure with me! Other expenditures such as souvenirs, entrance fees (where applicable) into parks and museums are also not included.
Hong Kong has the best public transportation in the world and therefore we will be traveling like how most locals do. I highly recommend you to get an Octopus Card in any MTR Station. Costing you HKD150 which includes a HKD50 refundable deposit and HK100 value, the Octopus Card can be used for paying in all public transport and so much more. I can assist in getting one for you.

Great day with Mandy! Get out of the tourist centre and see how normal people live. Mandy grew up here so can answer any question, whether on history, economic or local politics. She is great company, easy going and can help choose dishes from the vast food market for lunch, where a little local knowledge is a huge asset for visitors. I would heartily recommend Mandy as a guide and companion. You will see local life and not just what everyone else sees. A real 5 star guide.
