Otaru flourished as a trading port dealing with coal and herring and a port serving Sakhalin's development during the 1920'-1940's.
Otaru has abundant clear water and a cool climate appropriate for making good sake. I want to take you to Tanaka sake brewery to see how sake is brewed. After that, we can visit a nice seafood restaurant and enjoy sake with sushi, grilled fish and shellfish.
After lunch we'll enjoy strolling freely and take a look at glass shops, souvenir shops, and many other shops. Then we'll walk to nearby Otaru Canal. The canal is an historical site which recalls the city's good old days.

We really enjoy these tours. My husband and I have taken a few and we are thoroughly happy with the places that are covered, otherwise we would not had the experience and would be wondering around. We definitely recommend 'ToursByLocals'...
