I grew up in Germany, where I worked as a teacher at primary schools and high schools for geography and physical education. During the last years I traveled a lot and found my new home in Tasmania. Since then, I've work as a tour guide on this lovely nature island to show the stunning beauty to travelers from all over the world.
Besides tour guiding I love to go hiking, diving and do sports like yoga and cycling.
Tasmania is a lovely island packed with nature, forests and wildlife. Here you can visit ancient forests, wild rivers and waterfalls, see the highest flowering trees in the world or go back in history to learn more about the colonization of Australia and Tasmania. Many historic sites show you how convicts where treated, when they arrived in Australia 200 years ago.
When you are planning to do a multi-day tour around the island or want to do anything special, don't hesitate to contact me to organize a customized tour.
I look forward to welcoming you, and sharing my home of Tasmania.
A Recent Review of this guide
Renke is very knowledgeable about the history of Port Arthur and provided so much more information than the guide on site. His background as a teacher is evident, making him very capable at explaining things in an interesting way. Would highly recommend him, for this or other tours. On the way to and from Port Arthur from Hobart he showed us so much more, and taught us a great deal about the flora and fauna of Tasmania.
