I am a freelancer in Sai Gon but I am original from the Mekong Delta.
To pursue my dream becoming a tour guide I have studied language major and get the international license in tourism. I also love to travel and I do understand the meaning of guiding in tourism.
One time I got a very bad experience with a tour I was taking part, and since then I always do my best to avoid that guests experience negative feelings while on tour. . . when you take a tour, it should be all about pleasure!
I have been working as a translator with a local tour company providing tours to Cu Chi Tunnels, including dinner with veterans. I learned a lot from the questions guests were asking, and I normally put these in my tours (interesting facts, real stories, point of view. . . ) I strongly believe that tours related to the Vietnam War are not about killings, winners or losers. It's history, and we are here to learn from the past.
I also love to share about the culture and lifestyle of my hometown throughout my experience I was grown up in the Mekong Delta.
"When you are in Vietnam do as VietNamese do" I would love to explain to you What? Why ? and How ? to do as we do!!! . After the tour, you will have a lot of wonderful things to "put" in your pockets and bring back home!!!
If you are keen on trying new things, I will bring you to try local street food and explore the city by scooter. You are in my "deserving list" to enjoy the best of the best food in my country!
"Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer".
Just drop me a message and let me know your desire, I ensure you will not regret coming too Vietnam! It will be my pleasure to become part of your journey!
*Note: Cruise ships pick up: please send me the information of the Cruise as well as your name, and you will see the welcome board with your name the day you come.
Your little buddy in Sai Gon!
A Recent Review of this guide
A truly fun day. We had great discussions about Vietnamese history and Hien had brought wonderful maps and descriptions of the many changes from pre-colonial times to current history. The Mekong Delta portion had food tastings and multiple transportation modes. The Tunnel portion was certainly emotional for someone of my baby boom generation. Having travelled a good portion of the world, I would highly recommend Hien as your guide.
