I was born in Hiroshima and have spent most of my life in my hometown, Hiroshima. I studied English at university and worked for an automobile maker in Hiroshima for five years. Then I taught English in public elementary schools for nine years. I wanted to extend my field a little more and got a national tour guide license in 2013. I have been working as a freelance tour guide since 2014. I am excited now to have just joined the team of ToursByLocals!
I have a passion and love for my job, with my commitment to make your visit memorable and fun. You will find me friendly, cheerful, flexible and knowledgeable. I love kids and I am happy to be with them. I love guiding elderly people and I am happy to talk about Japanese history and culture with them, walking at an unhurried pace. Because of my career at elementary schools, I love and I am good at guiding people whose native language is not English. I can use very simple and easy English in my guiding so that non-native English speakers can easily understand me.
Hiroshima has both a sweet side and a bitter side. It goes without saying that Hiroshima is world famous for its sad memory of the atomic bomb. But at the same time, Hiroshima is a brilliant city where you can enjoy beautiful scenery on Miyajima shrine island, eating local foods and tasting Japanese sake. Why don't you have a memorable day in Miyajima shrine island and peace park with me?
I hope my tours suit your interests. Please feel free to contact me for any further information. I can customize my tours based on your needs and I will do my best, with Japanese spirit of hospitality, to make your tour comfortable and happy.
Thank you for visiting my profile and I look forward to welcoming you in Hiroshima!
A Recent Review of this guide
Keiko and this tour were superb. We decided last minute on the tour and it ended up being both moving and memorable. Keiko made the day easy and took us to a great place for lunch .She gave us great historical background of of Itsukushima shrine, Diasho-in and Hiroshima. Her background as an English teacher came through on the tour. She kept all of us engaged including my college age sons. This was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan and Keiko had alot to do with it. Strongly recommend guide/tour
