Rainbow Falls, Boiling Pots, Akaka Falls, Kahuna Falls
This tour is filled with many wonderful sights and sound of the beautiful island of Hawaii (Big Island).
Rainbow Falls is an impressive place to visit based on the amount of rainfall we receive. Just a mile upstream is the Boiling Pots and Waiale Falls that offers views that are spectacular.
We'll take a beautiful drive down the 4-mile scenic route along the coast and thru tropical rainforest. Akaka Falls is an amazing place where you can take a short walk along a paved pathway to see one of the most beautiful falls in all of Hawaii.
When we make it back to Hilo we will visit Richardson Beach Park which is famous for it's black sand beach.
Let me show you the beauty of the Big Island of Hawaii!

If time permits, and if you want to, we can also make a visit to a macadamia nut farm.
Meeting Location + Tour Duration
Meeting location: For cruise ship passengers, I recommend trying to be some of the first off the ship so we can take our time and really enjoy the wonderful scenery. NCL Pride of America lets you get off the ship in Hilo starting at 8 AM.
We will begin the tour on the Hilo (east side) of Hawaii Island. This includes the Port of Hilo for cruise ship shore excursions, hotels and B&Bs.
End location: We end the tour at the same location we began the tour.
Duration: 3 hours
The duration of this tour is an estimate and can change based on the length of time we spend at each stop. Remember, this is YOUR tour and it is my goal to give you an experience of a lifetime.
4-door, Air Conditioned, 2016 Ford F-150 4WD, which has tons of room for up to four full sized guests. This truck has been modified for off-road use with a higher step up than usual.
Guiding service, bottled water and transportation to some spectacular sights.
Estimated Local Cash Needed
10 USD - per person for snacks, drinks, etc.
I usually do not include a dedicated lunch stop on the tour because it takes so much time away from seeing other sights. If this is something you desire, we certainly can stop for lunch. Lunch can cost anywhere between $10 and $20 per person, depending on where we go.
You are more than welcome to bring sandwiches and other snacks with you.

We thoroughly enjoyed the tour with our tour guide Scott today. Scott was very friendly, and had so much knowledge to share with us about Hilo and Hawaii. We got to learn about many different types of trees and flowers that grow in Hawaii! Some of the best parts of the trip were having delicious chocolate and coconut macadamia ice creams at Mauna Loa, and sightseeing beautiful Akaka falls. Thanks so much, Scott, for the wonderful memories in Hilo!
