A walking tour in the world's best preserved archaeological site - Skip-the-line included
Pompeii is not the only site to stop your exploring at: do not miss the chance to discover Herculaneum as well!
A 2-hour walking tour together will be a dive into the private lives and habits of Ancient Romans.
Herculaneum is a small, italic town with an orthogonal grid pattern of streets. It is located nearby Mount Vesuvius, just a few miles away from Naples and Pompeii. The city is smaller, but even better preserved than Pompeii - the total area was of 20 hectares, with a population of about 3, 000 inhabitants; because Herculaneum was buried with a 20-meter-thick mud layer in 79 AD when the Vesuvius erupted, the city came to us in perfect conditions and it's still possible to observe perfectly intact two-storey houses, carbonized wooden objects, intact frescoes and mosaics. Absolutely not to be missed!
