A Walk Through the Germany Capital
This general highlights tour will take us to the most renowned and significant of Berlin sights, while guiding us through the city's fascinating sequence of historical periods. We will touch on the Medieval foundations, the illumination under Prussia, expansion and revolution within the German Empire, the World Wars and Nazism, the related destruction, Cold War and communism, from midcentury division through to the ultimate reunification. This four to five hour tour can include a stop at a local cafe, beer hall, or restuarant, and can be entirely tailored to your needs and interests.
We will begin at the center of Berlin, where East met West: the Brandenburg Gate. From there we will move through the Tiergarten Park and the Holocaust Memorials, and will walk along the Berlin Wall path. Like locals, we'll go by U-Bahn, to Checkpoint Charlie. By taxi, we'll head to the old Prussian capital: Babelplatz and Museum Island. At the end of the tour, we will take the Tourist Line Bus (double decker with panoramic views) back through the city to get a view from above, to our final, most beautiful stop: the Reichstag.
Sights to see: Brandenburg Gate; Holocaust Memorial; Tiergarten Park; Museum Island; Babelplatz and Humboldt University; Gendarmenmarkt; Checkpoint Charlie; Berlin Wall; Unter den Linden; the Reichstag.
Already seen some of these sights? Have any particular historical inclinations? Itineraries in all my tours can be modified to best suite your needs and interests! :-)

This highlights tour lasts about five hours, but can vary due to length break time, walking speed, etc. Generally, my tours are quite conversational, and are never rushed, meaning we can move through the city (and through history) at your leisure.
On foot; Public transit (U-Bahn, and Double Decker Bus); Short Taxi ride.
For our walk, water bottles will be included, as well as rain ponchos.
Estimated Local Cash Needed
25 Euros (€) - For a coffee stop, only about 5€, while food depending on restaurant can range from 10-25€ per person.
Local Transit Card
Taxis are also another transit option, and would be paid in cash at the time of ride. They are relatively cheap and shouldn't cost more than 20-30€ per tour, if that option attracts you.
Note: Due to parking issues, and public transport are actually a much quicker (and far less expensive) option than private cars would be. Additionally, public transport is very much a part of the Berlin experience and not to be missed!
