Discover ancient Antioch
Hatay is the city known as "Antioch" in ancient times, where Muslims, Christians and Jews live in peace and harmony for many years.
Hatay is a peaceful city with historical significance for Christianity, where the followers of Jesus Christ were called Christians for the first time. The city and its massive walls also were important for the Crusades during the middle age. Saint Peter's Church, located on a hill side close to city, is regarded to be one of the most important churches for Christianity.
Besides Saint Peter's Church, a lot of ancient mosques, a number of Orthodox, Catholic and Protestant churches and Jewish Synagogues can be seen in the city.
