Harvard's history, including Harvard's role in the Revolution and Civil War.

On a 90 minute guided walking tour, learn the history of Harvard. You will hear the stories of the religious battles that defined Harvard's founding. Learn how Harvard's political and religious ideas formed the bases for the American Revolution. Hear the stores of the Harvard patriots: Sam Adams, John Adams and John Hancock.

As we stroll past the architecture from the 18th through 20th century, learn how Harvard students worked to end slavery and supported the Union effort in the Civil War. See the Harvard residences of Presidents, authors, and movie stars. Understand how, over time, Harvard changed from a Protestant based regional college to an international multi-ethnic university.

Enjoy the magnificence of Memorial Hall, Widner library and Memorial Church, as you see how they contrast with the buildings of the late 20 century.

A Recent Review of this tour

Absolutely magnificent... who knew Harvard was much more than University? Such an influence on America and American History. Ted was fantastic, nothing was a trouble he knew his stuff and made it a pleasant way to stroll through the hollow grounds and feel part of it. I even want to go back to University :) ! Thank you so much Ted for a fantastic tour.
