Discover Historic Hakodate with private guide
Port city Hakodate attracts many tourists for its history. Let's get on the bus and go to Goryokaku Tower first. The tower enables us to see a breath-taking view of the star-shaped Goryokaku Fort. You will see the Magistrate's Office of the shogunate government at its center. This historic fort is now a park with 1600 cherry trees, azaleas, pine trees and others planted. Then we will walk into the park to have a closer view of the Magistrate's Office.
Then we will go to JR Station and catch a bus. The bus goes through the Bay area where the Red Brick Warehouses and Meijikan are, and takes us to the Motomachi area. We will stroll along a narrow street and stop at Higashi Honganji Temple, Roman Catholic Church, Japan Orthodox Church, and the Old Public Hall of Hakodate Ward.

The 3 hour tour with Fumiko was very interesting. Fumiko was very friendly and knew a lot about the history of Hakodate. She told me a lot of interesting things about the city and its history. The tour was well planned so there was enough time for sightseeing, shopping or photos. I would make a tour with Fumiko any time again and would highly recommend her as a guide.
