Handicrafts and traditions
The villages of Gualaceo and Chordeleg, just 45 minutes east of Cuenca. In this places we will find, beautiful landscape, nature, families who still are making textiles the same way as the "Cañaris" (the native inhabitants) did 500 years ago, also along the way we have the opportunity to visit an orchid farm that has more than 2000 species of orchids one of the best of the world, also we visit the food and fruit market, also the typical cooked food market, shoes makers, jewelers, etc. So all together is a very rich experience.
We leave from Cuenca at 9 am, a long the way we visit several things, like, Ikat weavers, and an orchid farm. Then arrive to Gualaceo, here we visit two markets, also the shoes makers, the main plaza and the church.
Then we have lunch in a nice restaurant.
After lunch we leave to Chordeleg which is consider de silver town where a lot of jewelry is made, good prices and beautiful handicrafts from all over Ecuador as well.
Return to Cuenca.
