A day trip to a World Heritage Site situated in the Masvingo province. The place boasts of beautiful and carefully constructed stone walls. Being one of more than 300 known sites, this is the biggest and the most visited by people from all corners of the Wonderful World. Built by just placing one stone on top of the other without mortar, the place also has beautiful scenery, and surrounded by villages of the Shona people. Get to learn about the History and Culture. Visit the local art and craft market, sample some Chibuku, our indigenous opaque beer brewed from millet, and maize.
Leave Harare towards Masvingo, Great Zimbabwe-tour the area -Lunch at Great Zimbabwe lodge, food outlet or at Chevron Hotel. - leave Great Zimbabwe before sunset or just after sunset.
Arrive in Harare around 7:30- 8pm

It is about 4 hours to the Monument and 4-5 hrs on tour then 4 hours back, so we might need to leave even earlier than the time above, especialy when we need to visit the Mutirikwi lake and the Mushandike Sanctuary, then back to Harare. There is room for staying overnight at the Great Zimbabwe monument, or Hotel.

Absolutely superb tour and guide. This was my second of three tours with Willard and by far the best, largely due to the majesty of the ruins. Willard is very attentive, knowledgeable, and makes great conversation about a wide variety of topics. Highly, highly recommended both as a site and individual guide.
