Visiting waterfall Gullfoss, Geothermal area Geysir and National Park Thingvellir
We drive to the national park Thingvellir, world heritage site since 2004 wherer the North-American tectonic and the Eurasian tectonic plates drift apart. Thingvellir is the site of the parliament founded in 930. We drive through the national park on the way to Europe crossing the no man land in between. We proceed to golden waterfall Gullfoss and visit the Geysir geothermal area with the beautiful spouting hot springs. This tour is a great introduction to Iceland, both because of history and geology.
During the tour we can take a break at a farm restaurant where you can have lunch or taste the farm ice cream. Or - if you prefer - we can take a break at a tomato hothouse restaurant where you can enjoy the tomato delicacies at the restaurant.
Optional to add extra activities, e. g. the geothermal exhibition or the Secret Lagoon for a modest fee. I can easily create a customized tour for you in case you have any special requests or if you are more than 4 people and need a larger vehicle.
Pick-up at or close to your hotel in Reykjavik centre. The drive to national park Thingvellir takes 60 minutes. A break for photos or a short walk. We arrive to Gullfoss waterfall in one hour's time. Geysir geothermal area is only 10 minutes away from Gullfoss. Breaks in both places before heading back to Reykjavik.
Recommended pick-up in Reykjavik at 9. 30am from November to February because of the daylight. Please notice that other pick-up times are possible depending on your schedule!

What a lovely tour! Gudrun was knowledgable, accommodating, a great driver on the roads and easy to be with. She had lots of information to give, not just at the sites we were at but also in between talking about volcanos, climbing areas and other cool things along the way. We didn't have to rush even though we had added stops that were for me, she knew how much daylight we had to enjoy the big sites and knew the time well. I would definitely recommend Gudrun as a tour guide, and plan on hiring her again!
