We just had an excellent experience in Mainz, thanks to our guide Barbara. We found Barbara to be very knowledgeable about the city, history, culture and life there., including the local cuisine. We very able to visit the Friday market, and Barbara pointed out the highlights of the market, including the fresh white asparagus. She explained the history of the monastery and showed us the Chagall windows. Her English was excellent. She went above the requirements and helped us with several tasks.
