I am born, bred and based in Glasgow. I love guiding travelers and to help you explore all across this ancient land. For your comfort and enjoyment as well, I have a Land Rover Discovery vehicle, the best car for the wee highland country roads.
I started working in Scottish travel & tourism nine years ago as a minibus driver/guide doing the regular day tours and progressed to full coach license to drive/guide larger groups up to 33 people going further and on extended tours to places like the Isle of Skye. Learning so much from this valuable work experience and so many management skills along the way and gaining the local knowledge in each place.
I am now specializing in 'private' only tours and using these resources as a experienced tourist guide with my own transport and insurance. Available for smaller groups to hire my services from both Glasgow and Edinburgh and departing the cruise-ship Ports at Greenock (River Clyde) and Queensferry (Firth of Forth). Daily tours and multi-day tours to the Highlands and isles upon request. Including Scotch whisky distilleries and Salmon Fishing can be arranged as well as historic castles in scenic locations and going to TV/film production sets for Braveheart and Outlander fans. On tour I use a Land Rover Discovery car for transportation and it can comfortably accommodate 4 adults + 1 child. With advance notice, I can also arrange for larger vehicle seat up to 8 adults, with an extra cost, so please contact me for those details.
And finally, I would just like to add that my tours are flexible too suit you, after all it is your holiday. So you can make changes on the day within reason to our timetable. You can custom your very own special tour and I hope that when you do come to Glasgow you will choose me to help lead the way and show you around for memorable visit. In my own time when I am not at work, I love being outdoors and to go exploring and my passion is fishing for Salmon. I also appreciate a dram of the finest Scotch single malt whisky from time to time. I look forward to meeting you all, and sharing awe the wonders of my wee country. Slainte Mhor.
A Recent Review of this guide
We had a great time with Frank who was willing to modify the tour to fit our needs as we were taking a bus tour that was going to encompass some of the normal sites later in the week so he modified it according to what we wanted to see. The car was very clean and had plenty of room for the four of us although it would have been more comfortable for 3. He also wore a kilt!
My first testimonial from Jame Becker (USA) 09 May 2018...
..When we came off the ship, Frank was easy to spot by his smiling face. Great idea having pictures of the guides on your website. Frank gave us a great overview of what we could see and altered the trip as we went along thus giving us a great first impression of Scotland and of Tours by Locals. We stopped at a restaurant at Loch Lomond and had a delicious lunch along with a mini whiskey tasting. He was informative, open to questions, and fun to be with. He is part of the reason we will return to Scotland.
