Discover Gdansk: the cradle of Solidarity
This tour includes the same program as in Gdansk Old Town Walking Tour
(tour #300481) plus a visit to European Solidarity Centre which is situated very close to the Old Town. Total walking time will be about 5 hours.
Gdansk is a city of freedom, where in August 1980, famous electrician, Lech Walesa signed the "August Accords" and Solidarity was born.

During this tour I would like to show You the most beautiful sights of my , over 1000 year old port city, such as the Royal Way, the Golden Gate and the Neptune Fountain. After walking down the Long Embankment We shall reach the biggest medieval Crane in Europe. Later, I will show You the most picturesque Mary's Street with its famous porches. Afterward, We shall visit St. Mary's Basilica - the biggest brick church in the world, for 25. 000 people.
I would like to show You also a Smell Market. . and XIV c. Prison Tower and Torture House, where now there the Amber Museum is located. Gdansk is described as the "world amber capital", so I will also tell You more about this resin, also called 'The tear drop of the sun".
