A Galilean Cultural and Cooking Adventure
We have Druze, Moslem and Christian hosts, all of whom exemplify the middle-eastern custom of hachnasat orchim; warmly welcoming guests into their homes. The day starts (after tea and coffee, of course) with approximately 3 hours of hands-on preparation of traditional dishes. The menu changes seasonally. Once we have finished preparing the delicacies, we all sit and enjoy our feast.
After introductions over coffee and tea, our host instructs the participants on the various local, authentic foods of the area and how to make them. THE WORKSHOP IS VERY "HANDS-ON". Participants actually prepare the meal, under the guidance and instruction of the host. No previous cooking knowledge is necessary. Cooking professionals, avowed foodies, skilled home cooks and complete novices will all find the tour fascinating and inclusive. Even (or perhaps, especially) kids.
There is always one meat portion, ( a specific vegetarian portion can be included), but the vast majority is based on local vegetables, grains and pulses, so vegetarians enjoy the activities as much as the carnivores. Specific dietary requests (vegan, allergies etc) must be notified ahead.
