Full day immersion into real Tuscany!
An English speaking driver and myself will meet you at your hotel in Florence and drive you to Siena in an air conditioned luxury sedan or minivan. The walking tour will kick off from the Basilica of San Domenico, a milestone of local architecture and faith. We will not miss the famous shell shaped square, Piazza del Campo, the stage where twice a year, the Palio horse race is performed. We will include the Duomo, considered one of the finest Gothic cathedrals in Italy with amazing works by Bernini and Michelangelo.
After lunch to be decided together (not included) we will continue onto San Gimignano, the drive is 45 minutes. Our walk there will start from San Giovanni gate, where the medieval city walls are still completely visible. We will proceed to the old core of the city, consisting of three small squares. The Duomo in San Gimignano is one of the few churches in Italy that are entirely decorated with frescoes.

What a great day! Elisabetta is a fun guide who shares her love for these two towns in an enjoyable and informative way. I learned so much from her! Each town has its hidden gems and stories. Also, I will now look at frescoes in a church much differently! I appreciated the interesting and fun tour, yet I have to say, I really enjoyed the lunch in Siena, where she took us to a little restaurant away from the crowds. Food was delicious! Thanks to Elisabetta, we had a lovely, memorable day!
