What speaks the most about a Tour Guide are the reasons why he chose this job. As for me, it's pretty simple, I'm a "France lover"; I have a passion for all aspects of this country. Therefore my goal is to make sure that your visit to France will be a long-lasting memory, and for that, I will give you the keys to understand the sites, the society, the food, the mentality, the culture. . . More than simple sightseeing I'd like you to experience my country.
As someone once wrote "we travel to change, not of place, but of ideas". . . this is also why with me you will « experience » each place and not only see it through a window.
It's been 18 years that I provide guided tours on the French Riviera and Provence, I'm not "driver-guide" or "tour leader", or whatever is the made up term but Certified Tour Guide & Lecturer ; I don't only drive you around with some comments, I do the guided walking tours and a full service.
Guiding is a real job and required a specific qualification, hiring someone with a License to ensure you to be with a professional who has been trained, but also the only person who can legally guide in historic sites (such as Saint-Paul, Les Baux, Menton, etc. . . ), in historic monuments or museums.
I also have a Master degree in Modern History and one in Political Sciences from the Sorbonne University in Paris. To complete a degree in communication and one in Management, still from the Paris university.
I live in a region where the tourist offering is very standardized, with very few "off the beaten tracks" programs, so I'm happy to be able to offer you a unique experience fully tailor-made.
Don't hesitate to browse my list of tours, you may discover that this region has much more to offer that one could expect and that the best is not always the most celebrated.
If you don't find the itinerary or the departure place of your choice, please contact me I will customize a tour for you, and if I happen to be already booked on your day of interest I will find for you the best solution with a recommended colleague.
For most of my tours, you have the opprtunity to enjoy a traditional French picnic (optional), that I had the pleasure to refine over the years.
I use top of the line new minivans (2017 and 2018 models), with leather seats, A/C 3 zones, panoramic roof, electric doors, cooler complimentary drinks, free WIFI, etc. . .
If you have any question please contact me, I'll be happy to provide all the information you need.
A bientôt en France!
A Recent Review of this guide
We are interested in history and Michel was the perfect guide. He tailored our two days perfectly. Since we were based in Nice, we spent a day in the east including Monaco, and the Rothschild Villa. Then a day in the west visiting Antibes, St. Paul de Vence and other villages. Michel is personable, and offered restaurant suggestions, as well as museums. Thank you, Michel!
