Experience Two Truly Amazing Activities in One Day, Both in Beautiful Locations
If you haven't tried fossil hunting, then I guarantee from personal experience that it is addictive and great fun, especially when you get your eye in and the fossils, up to 200 million years old, start appearing on the beach in front of you! This day will give you ample opportunity to learn all about the fantastic fossils that have been and can be found on the Jurassic Coast of the East Devon and Dorset coast. Ammonites, belemnites, crinoids and molluscs can often be found, and if you're very lucky, parts of reptiles and fish might appear before you! A private guided walk with a professional fossil hunter at either Lyme Regis or Charmouth will enhance your experience no end.
You will also have the wonderful and novel experience of taking a Llama for a walk in a truly beautiful location, something not many people can say they've done.
I truly believe that this is a unique day that will give you great memories for life.

I will collect you at 9am, then we'll drive over to East Devon to get to the beautifully located Peak Hill Llamas. We'll be greeted by the friendly owners and served with coffee and some treats to keep you going until lunchtime. You will then be taken on a guided walk with a Llama, getting to know your friendly animal as you go.
After this amazing experience, we will find our way to a tasty pub lunch, which will provide us with energy to then go fossil hunting. We will head to the Jurassic Coast in Dorset, where I will introduce you to your expert fossil guide, who will help you discover the delights that can be found right under your feet, and I guarantee you won't come away empty handed! If time allows, a visit can be made to either the fossil museum in Lyme Regis or the visitor centre in Charmouth, either of which is fascinating.
We'll end the day perfectly with a cream tea, before I drop you back to your accommodation.
Meeting Location + Tour Duration
Meeting location: For this one day tour, I will collect you from your accommodation at 9am, as long as it is within reasonable distance from where I live. If you are intending to take a several day tour, then I can arrange for airport pickups, or collection from other parts of the country.
End location: I will take you back to your accommodation.
Duration: 8 hours 30 min.
In the event of poor weather, the Llama walk and/or fossil hunt might be foreshortened or altered in their design.
As your driver guide, I will take you around in my Ford Galaxy people carrier, which can comfortably take 6 adult passengers. It is a 2010 model in very good, clean condition. This day involves quite a bit of walking, whilst on the Llama walk and whilst on the fossil hunting walk. The Llama walk involves some uphill walking (to get to the viewpoints), but it can be tailored on to flatter ground. The fossil walk is on the seashore, the beach of which is stony.
My services as your tour guide, transport in my vehicle including fuel and full insurance, any fees, fares or entrance charges which I would incur for accompanying you.
