Accademia or Medici Chapels: a way to discover the Genius
After the visit (external) of the historical center of Florence, which includes Cathedral, Giotto bell-tower, Brunelleschi dome, Baptistry, Republic square, New Market, Old Bridge, Vasarian Corridor, Signoria Palace, Uffizi Building, Signoria square, we move towards one of the two museums you've chosen: the Accademy gallery to admire the original marble David and the Four Prisons; or the Medici Chapels to admire the unique mausoleum of the Medici family where we find the New Sacristy, architectural and sculptural masterpiece by Michelangelo.
Meeting Location + Tour Duration
Meeting location: Signoria square (in front of Neptune statue)
Medici Chapels are closed on the 2nd and 4th Sunday and 1st, 3rd and 5th Monday of each month, May 1st.
The Accademia is closed on Mondays.
If you choose the Medici Chapels, the tour takes place in the morning as this museum closes at 1.30 pm
This tour can't take place the first Sunday of every month as entrances are free and reservations are not allowed. This means very long waiting lines (many hours)
