half day (3,5h) - up to 6 persons
This tour is destined to explore the central massif of the Serra de Água de Pau, the second largest lagoon of the island and which still remains in the wild state - The Lagoa do Fogo. With its tracks filled with endemic vegetation, this place is classified, according to the EC, as a Special Conservation Area and is part of the Natura 2000 network.
Around it we have Monte Escuro, raised to 898 meters above sea level and its steep slopes covered by the Macaronesian flora, which ends the Caldeira Velha - waterfall where you can bathe in warm water, the Lombadas - Rising natural gas water and also the Waterfall Salto do Cabrito.
On the north coast, is located Gorreana, the only tea plantation in Europe, where the clay soil and acid offers a very pleasant aftertaste to this very popular plant, as well as the Santa Iria Viewpoint, Belvedere of Whalers with its little lighthouse, where you can contemplate the immensity of the sea and much of the northern coast of the island.

What a fabulous tour. Our guide showed us so many beautiful areas of the island as well as the sea beyond. We were fortunate enough to come on a rare day where the sun was shining, no clouds in sight and you could see for miles. Apparently that doesn't happen often. We felt as though our private tour was so special and we were able to see so many hidden gems that most visitors don't get to see. Glad we chose a private tour instead of a bus full of tourists. We would definitely book with Sergio again.
