Discover the center west of Portugal, it's medieval heritage and Fátima!
This private tour of central Portugal will cover a lot in one day. Departing from Lisbon, you will visit one of the most emblematic places for the Christian religion, Fátima, and its spectacular sanctuary. You will see the magnificence of both the old and the new Basilicas and the praying field where 250, 000 people pray at the famous candle processions during the main historical dates--May 13 and October 13.
Also, visit Batalha Monastery, one of the best examples of Gothic architecture in Portugal where one of the most important battles of medieval Portuguese history took place.
One other point of interest is Nazaré, a fishing village which is home of some of the tallest surfable waves in the world and some of the most delicious seafood.
Óbidos, a beautifully preserved medieval village is also a must see when you visit this area of the country where you will taste the famous Ginginha (Cherry Liquor) in a chocolate cup, and have time to stroll through the village and buy some souvenirs.
